Introduction

Welcome to the Anglican Parish of Nundah. We hope you find a soft place to land, here, at this website.

The Parish of Nundah consists of the suburbs of Nundah, Northgate, and Wavell Heights and has a long history in this place; the first church of St Francis of Assisi being dedicated on Sandgate Road in 1886.

We now have two centres: St Francis of Assisi on Cavendish Street, and the Church of the Holy Spirit on Imbros Street.
These are your churches; you are welcome at any and all times. If you are new, we would love to get to know you. If you are already part of our community, thank you for being here!

Our Vision

We strive to be a vibrant, growing, self-sustaining Anglican Parish, serving and representing Jesus to the communities of Nundah, Northgate and Wavell Heights.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge all First Peoples of the land on which live, walk and work. We honour them and their Ancestors for their survival, continued traditions, and spiritual connection to and caring of country; land, sky, water and sea. We pay respect to their Elders past and present and will continue to support their right to self-determination.

We are committed to Reconciliation and respectfully recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.

Comprehensive Anglicanism

Our parish community is bound together by our commitment to a comprehensive expression of Anglicanism. This means that

• we are catholic or universal in our embrace of the traditions of the church back to the foundational creeds,

• evangelical in our outreach to honour the great commission to make disciples of all nations and,

• progressive in that we honour the insights of science and deep learning to inform our understanding of the scriptures and traditions of the church.

We are therefore, because of this commitment, a community to which all are welcome regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference or ability.
